» ' Overall Description ,
It's only human nature to base first impressions on a person's appearance. It's a fact that people are more likely to approach someone if they are attractive, because... well, we all like to be friends with beautiful people, don't we? We feel more comfortable and at ease, and honestly, more accepted when with someone pretty. Is it shallow? No need to be ashamed. It's only human nature, after all.
Charlie's bold and aggressive beauty is what people first notice about her; elegant yet natural, gorgeous yet realistic, she has good first impressions in the bag. Her figure is thin, yet blessed with modest yet well-defined curves above and below her waist, giving her a subtle hourglass form. Many summers spent in the sun have had an impact on her skin tone, now a permanent tan shade. Long strands of soft ebon thread flow out gracefully from her head to her chest, framing her heart-shaped face perfectly. Beneath slim brows are two rich brown eyes surrounded by full lashes. Gazing into the light, these hazelnut optics take on an amazing shade of celery green, lighting up her already glowing visage with a spectacular accent. Never deadpan or dreary, her eyes always shine with a clever sparkle.
If there ever was one word to describe Charlie's presentation of herself, it would be fierce. Carrying herself in a graceful, swan-like stance at all times, floating about in elegant stature, with a ramrod straight back, staring about her with cold and sharp, yet intriguingly gentle eyes, she makes sure everybody knows that she means business. As far as she's concerned, she's the best damn slice of sunshine ever to step into El Dorado, and you should respect and appreciate her position, her power, and her self-declared beauty in tribute to her superiority. Perhaps a bit of an overstatement, but that is the idea. It's no secret that Charlie Beaumont has never been the most humble of all creatures, and that is clearly demonstrated in the way she presents herself.

» ' Personality ,
the 7 deadly sins of charlie beaumont
bitchy, insecure, arrogant pessimist
Lust - We are talking about a beautiful young girl fresh out of her teenage years, here. Lust is clearly going to be a factor of her personality, her thoughts, her behaviour. Though most would not openly declare Charlie a slut, she does like to have fun- and very few people would deny that sex is pretty fun. She also tends towards clothing that will get her those ever so satisfyingly prolonged glances from members of the opposite sex. To her, sex appeal is just another opportunity for her to be in control, and Charlie Beaumont always wants to be in control.
Greed - When Charlie wants something, she wants it, and she won't change her mind about it, and she won't stop going after it until she gets it. Some might think of this only as determination, and not greed, but if you truly know her, you realize that it's more stubbornness, fueled by sheer avidity to have what she wants. Whether it's a big bad brawl, a bet gone sour, or a question of who fronts the bill, somehow, some way, Charlie will get her way. She's what you'd call charming, and she's used to making her point clear. It isn't particularly easy to impress her, because she has higher expectations than most people do. When you aim for the best, you tend to be disappointed by anything less than such.
Wrath - Charlie is extremelypessimisticrealistic when it comes to anything in her life. If she's upset, she won't tell you that she's fine. If she hates you, she won't grin and bear it, she'll flip out at you. Some people consider her cynical because when she is not particularly angry, but rather in a generally bad mood, she will answer everything with a sarcastic, rude or depressing comment, refuisng to take any part in any happiness that others might be experiencing.
Gluttony - Charlie believes that she deserves the best, so she gives herself the best. It's as simple as that. If she's convinced that she needs a thousand-dollar dress for a certain event, she'll buy one, no matter who tries to tell her not to. An accelerated metabolism has also forced her to be something of a glutton in a more literal sense- she eats what she wants, when she wants, and however much of it she wants. And if somebody has a problem with that, that's their problem.
Sloth - If she doesn't want to do something, she won't do it. It's as simple as that. She won't let anybody talk her into doing something that she doesn't want to do, whether she'll benefit from it or not. Since she can, theoretically, obtain the power to do anything she wants to do with very little effort, she sees no point in spending an unnecessary amount of time or effort on something that she won't enjoy.
Envy - It wouldn't be incorrect to say that Charlie is quick to get jealous of people that she thinks are better than her. She also has an odd streak in her that makes her find some reason to believe that nobody deserves to be better than her. By her logic, she is to inherit the most coveted source of power in the world, so she deserves to have everything that everybody else has and more, and when somebody proves to her that she doesn't- well, let's just say it doesn't please her too much.
Pride - Charlie might be considered stuck-up by some people, solely for the reason that she really couldn’t be bothered to argue with somebody who she thinks is an idiot. Some perceive this as her believing herself to be above the pettiness of teenage life, and to a certain extent, it’s true, but not as much as people often think. She is intelligent, opinionated, and completely unaffected by any problem you might have with her. She plays by her own rules (it’s not her fault that yours aren’t as good), so most people consider her to be egotistical. She is also well-known for her flippancy towards her superiors. It isn’t that she completely disregards rules and order, in fact, these are things that she supports quite happily; her problem is that she refuses to be wrong. She defies her professors if they tell her to do something she believes is wrong, pointless, or otherwise unnecessary, and when she is having a disagreement with anyone, her sharp tongue does not willingly stay silently inside her mouth.the 7 heavenly virtues of charlie beaumont
quirky, wild, witty, loyal friend
Chastity - Although Charlie enjoys sex as much as the next girl, she don't pop her cork for every guy she sees. One-night stands have never been her style, and any relationship ending in "with benefits" is even worse. Perhaps willing to go "all the way" earlier on in a relationship than some others, she still has a moral code that simply won't let her do anything that she knows she will regret, and she knows she will regret sleeping with anybody who she isn't emotionally involved with. And if anybody takes advantage of her eagerness to unbutton a guy's pants when they're in a relationship with her, they are never happy once she's through getting her revenge.
Charity - Charlie is happy to offer up anything that she doesn't want, doesn't need, or is done with. The only problem is that she refuses to part with anything that she still has use for. She's also willing to share knowledge, time, or ideas with you if she thinks you're worth talking to to begin with.
Patience - She is not an angry person, as long as she doesn’t have a decent reason to be. She is generally quite pleasant towards those with whom she is comfortable, and on whom she holds no grudge. Of course, she is quite swift to judge someone- not necessarily on sight, but she is not very fond of second chances. The first impression is her only impression, and she will not hesitate to pass judgement on anyone based on the first time she meets them. Another thing that people find easy to recognize Charlie for is her ability to be completely and brutally honest, and her expectation to receive the same from you. Although feisty (she sometimes blurts out what's on her mind and very often it turns out to be less than pleasant), Charlie doesn't have as much of a temper as one might expect. There's a time and a place, she likes to think, and if getting hot and bothered about something isn't worth her time, then that's that. Injustice, needless stupidity, and hostility really send her flying though--so be prepared for an earful!
Temperance - Even if her behaviour doesn't always show it, Charlie knows the value of a dollar, and knows that there are more important things than her getting everything she wants. She won't overspend or overdo anything unless she feels it's necessary, or the benefit will outweigh the cost.
Diligence - Although it's hard to convince her to do something she doesn't want to do, when she does want to do something, nothing will stop her from doing it. She chooses her battles, but the ones that she picks, she's always determined to win. Even though she's picky about what she'll start, she always finishes it once she has.
Kindness - Interestingly enough, Charlie has an almost sweet-natured but grudging way of taking care of people. Sometimes, she will seem unkind or just plain unapproachable, but she seldom disrespects someone who doesn't act like they should be. Charlie chooses alcohol over drama and heartache; she's all for a party if even one more person is game. She's very protective of her friends, and nothing bad will ever happen to them if she can help it. If they happen to stumble upon something dangerous, she is very kind and forgiving- and if they knowingly walk into trouble, she will bail them out if they need it, but she won't be happy about it.
Humility - Although she is always the first one to claim that she's better than somebody else if she is, she's no liar. If there is somebody who truly surpasses her in any given area, she'll admit to it. She would never take credit for something that she didn't do, or claim to be great at something that she's bad at. The trade-off is that she will make sure she gets her credit if it is deserved. She's got swank and style, and she's not afraid to show off, but there's an underlying modesty that'll show through when she means it. She knows she isn't the best piece out there, and doesn't mind stepping down when the tables are turned by someone who deserves it.

Peterson Beaumont and Hillary Denver had a fairy-tale relationship. They spontaneously met while Peterson was on a business trip in El Dorado, where Hillary had lived for her entire life. The flustered, overworked restaurant manager and the strong, professional businessman, fell in love almost instantly, and it was right out of a really bad, plotless chick flick. So they got married, bought a house, he completely relocated his business to be with her, and they loved each other very much and lived happily ever after. The end.
Okay, so I guess it isn't really the end. Somewhere in the middle of it all, they had kids. Identical twins, in fact; Charlotte and Samantha Beaumont. Right now, Charlie is an only child, but it wasn't always like that. For a fraction of a second, she had a sister. She doesn't remember Sam at all, and she isn't really affected by her death; you can't really blame her, she wasn't even a week old when her twin died. She didn't know her at all. But Hillary was torn up about it. They say that there is no pain worse for a parent than to lose a child, so maybe that's why the woman had always been so protective of her surviving daughter. Even though she doesn't remember her sister very much, she can't help but feel a little bit guilty about her death. To say that she blames herself would be a bit of a stretch, but she doesn't really think it's fair for her to have lived, and not her sister. Sometimes she thinks about what it would be like to have a twin, but at the risk of being a horrible person, she isn't really emotionally scarred because of Samantha's death.
After all, it isn't her fault she was the lucky one. Some people might decide that it was their fault that their twin was dead and they were alive, and be traumatized because of that and want to kill themselves so that it would be fair. Pssht. Not Charlie. She finds people who might do something like that overly dramatic idiots straight out of crappy soap operas. Besides, how in the hell would that be fair to Hillary? She had already lost one daughter, she didn't need to lose another one. And Peterson, even though he seemed cold and emotionless at times, he too, would be unsurprisingly upset at the death of another child. Some drama queens just don't think about that, perhaps.
Charlie was a very early bloomer. She was born premature, and started walking and talking at just six months. Her parents would say that she was anxious to get her life started, and nothing could ever hold her back, and she was in no way shy about her feelings. If she wanted something, the world would know. If she was angry, the neighbours would hear the screaming. Her emotions were never any secret, and that was never a problem, because there were normally no problems with her emotions or behaviour, as a general rule.
She was a very happy baby, until someone tried to give her a pacifier. She absolutely loathed and despised the things, and they seemed to be the only things in the world that she wouldn't take. She ate all her vegetables, and she slept when she was supposed to- but she threw a huge fit if someone tried to give her a soother. Looking back on the memories, she concluded that they were really counter-productive things- for her, anyways, because they really did not soothe her at all, but rather made her even more unmanageable than she would have been before they shoved the thing into her mouth and tried to force her to suck on it.
Charlie came into everything early- even puberty. At ten years old, she started to get acne, and dry skin, and plenty of other appearance-related issues that would have been perfectly normal if she was a couple of years older. She became very unhappy with the way she looked. She'd always be jealous of the other girls in her class, with their perfect skin and perfect teeth and perfect hair and perfect eyesight. Charlie would sit there for hours, her eyeglass rim-clad nose buried in her notebooks, her dark brown hair, faded from the overuse of wash-out dyes, which, despite the desperate application of product, and succumbing to various hair-related superstitions, refused to grow any longer than the awkward, split-ended length of just above her shoulders, sprawled around her dandruff-infected head, an unattractive smile of satisfaction playing on metal-clad teeth as her pencil would scrape against the paper.
Of course, at thirteen, when everyone was going into their awkward stage, Charlie was just coming out of hers. She started wearing contact lenses, her hair got its vivid colour back, her skin cleared up and humidified, her braces came off to reveal straightened teeth, and she was regarded as a beauty among her imperfect companions. What she wouldn't give to be thirteen again. By now, everyone had soft and blemish-free skin, and long hair, and actual shapes, and she didn't stand out anymore. She missed being somebody that someone might pick out from a crowd of similar faces. Still, it was better now than it had been when she was ten. Perhaps it's still better to blend in than to stand out as something hideous.
Growing up, Charlie's mother was always her best friend. She was always there for her when she was upset, or if she ever needed anything. You could say that she was spoiled by her mom, but that wouldn't exactly be the truth. True, she got most of the things that she wanted from Hillary, but she was frequently reminded by her father that life costed money, and her mother wasn't always going to be there to hand everything to her on a silver platter. Always such a pessimist.
She was about twelve years old when she realized that she was angry. She was angry at her friends for being idiots, and at her classmates for hating her. She was angry at herself for deserving to be hated, and she was angry at her parents for pretending there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. She was angry at her father for never being there, and her mother for not realizing when she did and did not need to be there. She had a sort of epiphany, realizing that it wasn't helping anybody to pretend that other people weren't stupid (if she was smart enough to skip a grade, why couldn't everyone else keep up?), or to pretend that she liked somebody, or pretend that she didn't think she was better than them.
She used to keep her sarcastic comments and mean thoughts to herself, because she was afraid that they might hurt somebody, but at that time, it dawned on her that she was just being honest. But when the snarky remarks and rude comments that she used to say only on occasion, and apologize for, started to become more and more frequent, people got worried. They thought that there was something horrible in her life that was making her depressed or overly angry. But there wasn't. She had just stopped caring if what she said hurt anybody else's feelings. She wasn't doing anybody any favours by lying to them about her feelings, so she stopped lying. They'd thank her in the long run.
When she was fourteen, a good friend of hers was diagnosed with leukemia, and died the following year. For the first time in her life, Charlotte Beaumont could not be satisfied by crying on the shoulder of her mother. What helped her through that tough time in her life was alcohol; her mother had been an alcoholic before she met Michael, and now little Charlie was following in her footsteps. She started going to the parties of older students, where there was plenty of beer and liquor to keep her safe from the pain that she wished so desperately not to feel.

She was surprised at how well he was taking this. If somebody had asked her that kind of question, put her on the spot like that, she would have flipped out. She would have laid out several scenarios and possible answers that she could give to the question, all of them, of course, ending badly. Because that was just the way she was. She would look at what she thought to be all of her options, but she would only see the bad options. She didn't believe it to be possible for somebody to answer that kind of question correctly, and certainly not for somebody to answer it correctly, without hesitation, smoothly, calmly, and perfectly the way Mikah did. But she had been wrong before, and she had definitely been wrong this time, because she honestly could not imagine answering that horrible, thoughtless question well. She couldn't imagine it, but she had just witnessed it, so she didn't have to.[/size][/blockquote]
Most people liked it when people were nice to them, when they were genuinely kind, sympathetic or supportive of them, but not Nikki. She truly and honestly hated it when people were sweet to her. She hated it because it scared the crap out of her, the way it scared the crap out of her that Mikah was so perfect, but had still just admitted to being on a date with her, the most flawed person in the world. She hated being afraid, so she hated things that scared her, and good people, being good to her, terrified her. And they terrified her because she didn't think she deserved to have people be good to her the way that Mikah was always so good to her. It just wasn't fair. She was a bitch. She was. She was a bitch, and a horrible, horrible person, yet people still liked her, and although she pretended that there must be something about her that was good, or else people wouldn't like her, but in the end she just admitted that those people who liked her had absolutely no reason to do so, and it actually upset her that they did. People should only get what they deserve. You reap what you sew. But Nikki didn't. People gave her more respect, showed her more kindness, and were just better people than she could ever possibly deserve to associate with, and that bothered her. It made her want to cry, because it scared her, because she strongly believed in karma. Because one day, all of these people were going to realize what she already knew, that she didn't deserve to be treated the way they treated her, and they would just leave her alone, and she didn't think she would be able to handle that. Better to start with nothing than to have everything taken away from her. Still, perfect people like Mikah refused to leave her alone, and the last thing she wanted was for Mikah to leave her alone, but it still scared the hell out of her that he also didn't seem to want to leave her. That was just not normal. So when she heard his soothing voice telling her reassuring words, and she felt his hand on hers, it scared her, and her throat closed up and she jerked her hand towards her and away from him- she stopped herself before she could pull it away completely, but it was noticeable, and she was afraid that he would take it to mean that she didn't like what he was doing and saying. God, life would have been so much easier if everybody just treated her like the bitch she was. Everything would make sense if everybody would just acknowledge the fact that she was horrible and undeserving of the attention that everybody gave her.
Then she started to wonder whether she should or should not put her money away. She hated it when other people had to pay for her. It made her feel bad about costing them money, and self-conscious about how much money she was costing them. When she bought herself food, she bought a lot of food, because she didn't care if people thought she ate too much. In fact, she made sure that everybody knew that she ate a lot, because even if they thought that she ate too much, nobody was going to seriously and honestly call her fat. But if they thought that she didn't eat enough, they might think that that was why she wasn't fat. So she didn't try to hide the fact that she ate more than most people did. But she didn't want anybody else to have to pay for her food, because she would be costing them way more money than she was comfortable making them spend on her. After all, Mikah shouldn't have to pay for her fast metabolism and defiance for modern society. Not to mention the fact that if she put her money away, she'd have to take her hand away from Mikah's.But if she insisted on paying for her own food, then he would think that she didn't want it to be a date, because he had told her that if it was a date then she couldn't pay. And she wanted it to be a date, but she didn't want for him to pay for her. It was uncomfortable and rude to make somebody else pay for her meals. But she didn't want him to think that shewasn't madly in love with himdidn't like him. She had no idea what to do, which was starting to become a trend with this date, but was still a new experience for her, because she always had a smooth, controlled way of going about things. She was always either calm and collected or wild and crazy, but she was never awkward. Not even aroundthe man that she wanted to be with foreverMikah. And really, by now, she should have just been accepting that it was a date, accepting that they both wanted it to be a date, and just going about it the way that she would have gone about any other date. But for some reason, even without the additional awkwardness of not knowing whether they both wanted it or not, she was still scared. Maybe it was because Mikah was perfect and that scared the shit out of her, or maybe it was because she wasn't sure if she was ready to be in a relationship that involved demonstrating the new, intense feelings that she felt for him. Because she never had before. She had been in relationships, but she had never felt the same way about any other guy as she felt about Mikah Savage, and that also scared her. What did it mean? And it was one thing for him to want to be on a date with her, but did he have those same feelings for her? Knowing Mikah, it meant unfortunately little for him to be okay with the fact that this had turned into a date. They had both been on millions of dates before, and they both knew that, so maybe that meant that this one wasn't as different to him as it was to her. Because even though he seemed to want to be on a date with her, he was a lot more comfortable with it than she was, and that might just have been because he was just a generally less awkward person than she was, but it also might have been because he didn't see as much reason to be awkward as she did, and that also scared her. Nikki Redmond was scared of a lot more things than she prefered that people knew, and most of them involved Mikah in one way or another.
